Warthogs

Botswana, Africa

Southern warthog (P. a. sundevallii) is a wild member of the pig family found in grassland, savanna, and woodland in sub-Saharan Africa. Warthogs live in groups called sounders. When disturbed they flee with their tails sticking up into the sky. This reminds me of the long aerials often used on dune buggies, seen in the deserts of the American West, intended to help others to be aware of them when they are out of sight.
