Grey Wall

Bisti Badlands

Bisti Badlands is an amazingly scenic and colorful expanse of undulating mounds and unusual eroded rocks covering 4,000 acres, hidden away in the high desert of the San Juan Basin. This wall, at the south end of the Egg Factory is nearly a monotone grey composition of mounds, spires and hoodoos, except for the dark red capstones of red/purple/black metamorphosed rock, formed by ancient coal fires, atop some of the hoodoos and also scattered on the floor of the badlands.
