Bridgeport Valley

The simple big-sky view from downtown Bridgeport is spectacular. Bisected by the East Walker River, Bridgeport’s grassy valley spreads out flat as a cow pie, broken only by the Sierra Crest at Sawtooth Ridge, where serrated granite peaks, including the fancifully-named Matterhorn, Drag Tooth, Doodad, Sawblade and Blacksmith, soar to 12,000 feet.
