The Burr Trail, originally a cattle trail blazed by stockman John Atlantic Burr, extends 36 scenic miles from Boulder to the Notom road in Capitol Reef National Park. The pavement ends at the park boundary and becomes a dirt road of switchbacks which begin with the abrupt left turn seen here, heading to the brightly lit gorge with the Henry Mountains in the background.
