I had the opportunity to experience the moon descend behind the Temple of the moon. The moon was about 90% full/waning Gibbous. A sequence of time-lapse photos captured with the moon approaching from the left and appeared to roll down the inclined right surface of the rock. When the sunight began to approach the top of the formation I moved slaightly left and made another sequence of time-lapse images. The moon was still visible while the formation became increasingly illuminated. The shadow cast, from Black Mountain, dropping until the entire East surface was illuminated. The moon can be seen in all four images, though increasingly difficult to see. Photo © copyright by Robert Faucher.
