White Sand & Evening Primrose

White Sands NM

This rainy morning at White sands found me enjoying dramatic skies, directional lighting, untracked expanses of sand interrupted by a few evening Primrose (Oenothera), a genus of about 145 species of herbaceous flowering plants native to the Americas. They are not related to true primroses. Note the burrows around the base of the flower. Photo © copyright by Robert Faucher.
